Egeskov Castle

© Egeskov slot

Egeskov Castle is one of Europes best preserved renaissance Island-castles, built on a foundation of oak rafts rammed down into a lake. It was built in 1554 and the massive walls have secret staircases and embrasures for the castles defence. The grounds contain mazes and museums filled with relics of bygone times. You are welcome to bring along a picnic basket. There is also a cafereria in the park. During the school holiday it is possible to go by bus directly from Odense to Egeskov. The price included park and museums.
