The lovely, recreational nature area “Bratbjerg Søerne” borders on the Tranum Aktieplantage (plantation).

The plantation, the lakes, the roads and the paths together form a recreational area, which is open to the public all the year round.

“Huset” at the Bratbjerg Søerne (the lakes) is open during the summer and offers you the opportunity to prepare your own sandwiches or just enjoy the view from the terrace. It is open to the public during the summer from the 1st April to the 31st October - from sunrise to sunset. You may light the fireplace - both from the inside and the outside - and grill your own food. Inside you will find tables and benches with room for approx. 80 persons.

The use of the house is free, but if it is comprehensive gatherings and meetings you will have to pay for the maintenance of the house by means of the Giro inpayment form provided for the purpose.

The plantation was founded on the 14th June 1902 by locals in order to plant an area as protection for the region against the wind and storm and especially the damages from the sand drift from the sea.

The area covers 213 hectares equally shared between a northern and a southern and western part. In the southern part you will find the Bratbjerg Søerne.

At the Bratbjerg Søerne you will find a memorial stone in honour of the Bratbjergmanden, who is still remembered, more than 50 years after his death, as the great nature healer of the region.
