Café Dan Turell is a small oasis in the heart of Copenhagen. Guests start coming early to have a quick expresso and croissant before work and the young crowd gather around the bar in the evening until early hours.
Dan Turell was an extremely popular and quite controversial Copenhagen poet and author (1946-1993) who was a frequent guest at the café that now bears his name.
During his last years he was never charged for his food or drinks, and today the walls are decorated with the front pages of his works.
Inspired by the Parisian bohemian bars
During the daytime brunch is served as well as lunch from a varied menu, where the DT burger is one of the classics. In the evening the kitchen stays open until 23:00.
Weather permitting tables are moved on to the sidewalk and the large windows are opened to the street.
