The Hakkemarsh in Høje Taastrup

Less than one kilometre north of Høje-Taastrup railway station you will find a beautiful nature area with lake, wood and open landscapes.

In Hakkemosen you may angle and spend the night in a shelter. There are picnic areas with fireplaces on the edge of the lake.

From the middle of the 19th century until 1915 Hakkemosen delivered clay to the famous tile works Hakkemose Teglværk, which provided the stones for Vridsløselille State Prison.

The location gave inspiration to the novel "Guldglasuren", when the author Morten Korch was general manager of the tile works for a couple of years.

In 1915 the clay deposits were almost exhausted and today the area is characterised by the large lake area left by the clay digging.
