In 2011 it is 108 years ago that the Danish postal clerk Einar Holbøll conceived the idea for the world’s first Christmas seal. The motive of the Christmas seal varies from year to year and different artists are invited to design it every year.

The Christmas seal 2011 is created by the Danish illustrator Frederick Brampton. 
 

Where can you buy the seal?

The Christmas seal is available from post offices nationwide as well as in many kiosks and stores. The seal is also available from the Danish Christmas seal’s home page, where it is also possible to buy Christmas seals from previous years.

What are the proceeds used for?

The proceeds from the sale are used to run the so-called “Christmas seal homes” where Danish people who are going through rough times can get a much needed break from their everyday problems.
